Seville falls under the same Spanish national cannabis law as the rest of the country. Personal possession and private use are decriminalised since 1992. Seville's Andalusian government cannot create a separate regional cannabis policy — national law governs. The Junta de Andalucía has generally been conservative on cannabis policy, which may explain why the Cannabis Social Club scene in Seville is smaller than in Barcelona or even Malaga.

Seville is Spain's fourth largest city, known for flamenco, the Alcazar palace, Semana Santa and one of Europe's finest old towns. Its cannabis scene is more integrated into social life than specifically marketed to tourists. The Alameda de Hercules boulevard is the centre of Seville's alternative culture and the area where Cannabis Social Clubs are most concentrated. The city's large student population (University of Seville has 60,000 students) contributes to a socially liberal atmosphere in certain areas.

Safety Tips for Seville
Seville is a conservative city in significant ways despite its vibrant culture. Public cannabis consumption near the Giralda, Alcazar or during Semana Santa or Feria de Abril would be genuinely offensive and attract police attention. Use Cannabis Social Clubs or consume in private accommodation. The summer heat (often above 40°C) makes the indoor Social Club environment particularly comfortable.
