Cannabis Legal Status in Ireland
Ireland launched a three-year decriminalisation pilot in 2023 for possession of small amounts of cannabis for personal use. Under the pilot, possession is treated as a health matter rather than a criminal offence, with referral to health services instead of prosecution. However, cannabis supply remains fully illegal and there are no legal cannabis shops in Dublin or Ireland.
