About Medina Herb Collective

Souk el-Attarin — the souk of the spice and herb sellers — is one of the most ancient commercial spaces in Marrakech, a narrow corridor of aromatic stalls that have traded in dried herbs, resins, spices, and cannabis for hundreds of years. The Medina Herb Collective operates within this tradition, presenting itself as a specialist herb and natural medicine shop while also stocking the kif and hash products for which the Rif Mountain cannabis tradition is internationally known. Displays include saffron, cumin, argan oil, dried roses, and, depending on the season and supply, traditional Rif kif and pressed hash from the Ketama region.

The collective occupies a double-fronted stall in the heart of the spice souk, its shelves a dense mosaic of clay jars, muslin bags, and brass vessels. For visitors to Marrakech interested in the authentic souk cannabis experience — not the tourist-targeted street hustle — this is one of the more respectful and culturally grounded options in the Medina. Prices are negotiable, as in any traditional souk. Staff are knowledgeable about the medicinal and cultural uses of every plant in the shop, including cannabis. Morocco’s 2023 cannabis law has made conversations about Rif heritage more open than at any previous time.
