The Wyck neighbourhood is one of Maastricht's most pleasant areas: a compact district of boutique shops, independent restaurants, and historic architecture immediately east of Maastricht Centraal station. Paradijs is well-positioned for visitors arriving by train, being only a few minutes walk from the station.
The menu at Paradijs runs to between 16 and 24 varieties, one of the widest selections in Maastricht. The sourcing is meticulous: the shop maintains long-term relationships with Dutch domestic growers and rotates the menu regularly. Hash selection is extensive, with typically six to eight options covering Dutch, Moroccan, and Afghani varieties.
The Wyck neighbourhood rewards exploration: the Ceramique district on the riverbank has excellent contemporary architecture and the Bonnefantenmuseum, one of the finest art museums in the Netherlands.
