Genetics & Origin
Sticky Buns is the brainchild of Compound Genetics, a California-based seed company that has carved out a reputation for pairing only the most flavour-forward, high-end cuts in the Cookies genetic universe. Founded in the early 2020s, Compound rapidly gained collector status by releasing limited drops of crosses such as Apples & Bananas and Gelato 41 derivatives. Sticky Buns represents one of their most celebrated creations: a deliberate 50/50 cross of Honey Bun × Kush Mints, engineered to stack dessert-sweet terpenes atop a dense, resinous kush frame.
The Honey Bun parent traces back to an Ohio-born cross between Honey Banana and a Cookies variant, bringing sweet banana-vanilla aromatics and uplifting hybrid effects. Kush Mints — itself a cross of Animal Mints and Bubba Kush — supplies deep minty-fuel earthiness, physical relaxation, and the structural genetics that gift Sticky Buns its legendary trichome density. The combination is a textbook example of complementary stacking: each parent reinforces flavour dimensions that the other lacks, producing a synergy that surpasses either lineage in isolation.
